Tolani Onika Shirt

The Onika Shirt from Tolani is a glorious mix of colour, pattern and print, but somehow it all just works.

Rather than one repeating design, Onika brings together a beautiful patchwork of paisley, florals and decorative motifsin rich navy, cream, burgundy, rust, green and flashes of brilliant blue. The effect has the feel of vintage silk scarves pieced together, making every part of the shirt interesting without it feeling overly busy.

The relaxed silhouette is beautifully fluid, with a classic collar, button-through front and softly full sleeves gathered into patterned cuffs. Look closely and you’ll see how the contrasting borders frame the neckline and front, another of those lovely Tolani details that makes the piece feel rather special.

And this is a brilliant wardrobe shirt. Black trousers immediately make it smart, but it will be equally fabulous with denim. Pick out the navy, burgundy or rust with a jacket or knit and you can completely change the look. It’s the sort of piece that earns its keep because there are so many ways to wear it.

Made from 100% viscose, it has that lovely soft, lightweight and fluid feel that allows the relaxed shape to drape beautifully.

Founded by designer Alka Tolani, Tolani is a beautiful brand inspired by travel, heritage, colour and traditional craftsmanship. Its distinctive prints and richly detailed designs have a wonderfully global influence, with pieces carefully made in India.

Tolani has built an international following and has been worn by names including Sarah Jessica Parker, Ariana Grande and Kylie Jenner, but what we love most is the combination of beautiful fabrics, extraordinary colour and genuinely wearable design.

A note on fit

Tolani is generously cut. As a general rule, we recommend sizing down by one size. If you would normally wear a 10, for example, we would suggest choosing an 8. It will still give you the lovely relaxed fit intended.
